The Storm team
Amanda has 30 years experience in consultancy PR. Starting out at Quentin Bell she then joined FKB’s PR division, moving to the consumer arm of Binns Cornwall and then New Media Group before starting Storm. During her career, she has worked across all disciplines and for a wide spectrum of clients. In addition to her Storm responsibilities, Amanda is still actively involved with clients at a senior strategic and creative level, as well as leading the crisis management team at Storm.
After completing a Masters in Political Science, Derek worked in the House of Commons and then the European Parliament, and in Public Affairs with Gwynne Hart and IGA before moving into mainstream PR working with Grayling, Chambers Cox, Michael Peters, and FKB. He was MD of New Media Group before forming Storm. Derek has over 30 years experience of PR in a broad spread of clients and sectors. Derek is involved with Storm clients at a senior strategic planning and creative level, as well as continuing to advise on crisis management.
Head of Consumer
Elinor has 15 years’ experience in PR and has worked on a diverse range of brands during her career including Yeo Valley, Mr Kipling, IFE, Food and Drink Expo, Tune Hotels, Benenden health and Durex. Her PR highlight was achieving 33 minutes of broadcast coverage and 12 pieces of national newspaper coverage for her client Roadchef (owners of Watford Gap service station) around their 50th anniversary. A single piece of coverage generated for a client campaign last year resulted in more visits to her client’s website than any other marketing activity, including SEO and online advertising.
With over eleven years PR experience, Susan heads up the Food, Drink & Home division at Storm. With a CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations, Susan has worked across a broad spread of clients, ranging from international brands and leading UK household names to growing SMEs and smaller start-ups. A passionate foodie and wine enthusiast, Susan has been fortunate enough to work with some of the UK’s best chefs, food and drink brands and a number of generic organisations. Home is an area Susan is also passionate about, and a growing division here at Storm.
Senior Account Director
Adam started his career in public relations at Storm and recently rejoined the agency after working in-house at leading electronics brand Epson, where he developed campaigns to promote printers, projectors, wearables across EMEA. He has agency and in-house experience working with enterprise and B2B companies such as Checkpoint Systems, Roadchef, Epson, Datalogic, Douwe Egberts, Cargill and Informa. His experience of leading and developing strategies on both the agency and client side has allowed him to successfully deliver against diverse communications needs.
Since graduating from university with a Masters in Corporate Communications, Beki has accumulated over 10 years’ experience in B2B and Corporate PR, focusing on a wide range of packaging and manufacturing clients including ABB Robotics, Bapco, Bühler Sortex and Kliklok. Beki joined Storm in 2012 and runs a portfolio of clients in a wide range of sectors, including Jacobs Douwe Egberts, the PPMA Show, Bartercard and the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo. Passionate about technology and events, she delivers high quality media coverage for her clients. In her spare time she can often be found volunteering as crew at events.
Lucy has specialised in food, drink and lifestyle communications for over eight years, working with a breadth of clients from FMCG brands like Cadbury and Pilgrims Choice to smaller start-ups. She also has extensive experience of managing campaigns for generic organisations and fresh produce brands including Olives from Spain, Jaffa Fruit, The Watercress Alliance, and The Tomato Stall. Her PR highlights are securing two producer profiles on BBC’s The One Show and negotiating a four page feature in top foodie title Olive magazine.
