SugaVida

With more and more people opting for a low-sugar or sugar-free lifestyle, we are delighted to announce one of our newest clients, SugaVida, which is the UK’s only supplier of organic Palmyra Jaggery (a crystallised, unrefined nectar alternative to sugar).

The ultimate nutritious ‘super-sugar’, SugaVida has a low GI making it safe for diabetics, and is rich in vitamins and minerals including B1, B2, B6 and B12, so is ideal as part of a healthy diet.

One teaspoon of SugaVida – meaning ‘sugar of life’ – contains 36% of the RDA of vitamin B12, 210% of the RDA of vitamin B6 and a whopping 500% of vitamin B1. Highly versatile, it can be added to tea, coffee, smoothies, protein shakes and water as a superfood supplement, as well as used as an ingredient in baking and cooking, using the equivalent of 50% less sugar. It’s regularly endorsed by top nutritionists, dieticians and Michelin star chefs across the UK and Europe.

As the product goes through a packaging relaunch, Storm will be in charge of raising brand awareness in mainstream consumer and trade media to encourage sales and new listings, as well as communicating the incredible benefits of SugaVida.

Drunkorexia - Benenden Health

It’s been a fantastic week for the Benenden team here at Storm with the release of the brand’s annual National Health Report. The concept, designed, written and issued by Storm for the past three years has gone from strength to strength. This year, report findings have been published across the national UK media, from The Daily Telegraph to the Daily Mail, on the radio, and even a slot on the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show, as well as securing a further 68 pieces of coverage. The report’s headline finding this year was that almost half of young people in the UK have admitted to skipping meals to save calories for drinking later, a destructive trend known as drunkorexia.

Better Bankside

We’re a very happy Bankside business this week. We’ve just been appointed as Better Bankside’s PR agency! Better Bankside, a Business Improvement District, works to make the Bankside area, including Southwark and Borough, a better place to live, work and visit. We’ve reaped the benefits ourselves, from Street Gym sessions to recycling schemes, and not forgetting the spectacular Shakespeare 400 celebrations in the area.

There are two big projects we’ll be working on this year – launching London’s answer to the New York High Line, and the MERGE annual arts, music and performance festival where artists draw upon the area’s heritage and culture. We’ve been brought in to help increase awareness of the work Better Bankside does for the area, as well as establish Bankside as a destination in its own right.

From the Bard to Dickens, to Borough Market and Tate Modern, it’s an area steeped in history, culture and talent, so we can’t wait to talk about it. We’ll be focusing on outreach to the London, consumer and trade press with all the exciting work Better Bankside is doing.

Tipa Kish herbs and cheese

Flexible food packaging that behaves just like an orange peel… We’re delighted to announce that Storm has been appointed by Tipa Sustainable Packaging to launch its fully compostable and bio-degradable plastic food packaging in the UK.

Plastic used across international value-chains for food and beverage packaging accounts for a staggering two-thirds of the world’s plastic waste. As such, sustainability and green packaging remain a critical topic for the food industry as it looks to eliminate waste in all forms within the supply chain, as well as meeting EU guidelines and industry self-regulation commitments.

With the same end of life organic waste properties as the food it wraps, Tipa’s innovative packaging is just as transparent, durable and impermeable as ordinary plastic packaging yet it returns to nature with no harmful impact on the environment, unlike other commonly used materials on the market. This means consumers can simply dispose of food packaging as they do with their food waste – into the food waste stream or by using a composter.

Storm has been brought on board to drive awareness of this revolutionary packaging material across the packaging, food manufacturing and grocery retail trade media, as well supporting Tipa’s appearance at the 2016 PPMA Total Show in September.

Planet Hemp

We’re excited to announce that Storm has been appointed by Hempco Cananda Superfoods to help launch its brand new range of hemp oil, seeds, superfoods, supergreens and snacks under its first consumer facing brand, PlanetHemp.

We’ve been brought in to drive listings for the brand and to educate consumers on the nutritional benefits of hemp. Our job is to cast-away negative preconceptions of hemp and show people just how incredibly healthy and these little seeds can be!

Canada is one of the leading quality producers of hemp in the world, and Canada’s Hempco is famed for successfully launching a number of world first products including: hemp protein powder; filtered hemp seed oil; hemp milk; hemp ice cream and even hemp yoghurt. Now a range is available right here in the U.K. direct from the highest organic and quality-assured fields in Canada. Planet Hemp’s range of hemp-based superfoods, seeds and snacks are set to spruce up your summertime diet and put hemp firmly on the menu.

The new range includes: Hemp Protein Superfood, Shelled Hemp Seed, Hemp Oil, Hemp Oil, Super Mini Bouchées in Forbidden Fruit and Cacao Heaven and Supergreens.
