London’s largest food waste collector and AD recycling plant, Bio Collectors needed to raise awareness of its services and campaign for changes in the Capital’s waste collection.

The ‘Just AD Food’ campaign was launched to put pressure on councils and businesses. Spearheading the campaign was a report on how London’s councils collected food waste. Using a Freedom Of Information request, the report was researched and written by Storm and showed that over half of councils still sent their food waste to incineration or landfill. This formed the backbone of a thought leadership campaign in the London news media and local government, grocery, HORECA and waste management press.

A public affairs campaign ran alongside targeting key policy makers at DEFRA, EFRA and City Hall, with members from EFRA and the London Assembly undertaking a plant tour. This lead to an official briefing for London Mayor Sadiq Khan to include a new leaning towards AD in the Capital’s waste management and also contributed to being awarded a £3m contract by West London Waste Authority. It also resulted in a number of industry award nominations too, as well as being shortlisted for Best B2B Campaign in the PR Moments Awards.
